Aziz

Our Story

It all started in 1955 when Aziz Abi Aad opened his first shop, AZIZ, in Kantari, Beirut. He quickly established a thriving family business, setting the standards in gourmet products and delicatessen. Driven by a permanent quest for refined goods and delicacies, AZIZ continuously imported the latest products and food trends, diversifying its product line. Alongside an upscale tailor made service, personally provided by the owners themselves, AZIZ attracted an elite of gourmet food connoisseurs.

Due to political events, AZIZ had to establish a new boutique in Zalka, in the Metn disctrict. In 1982, its activity was extended to French wines import, setting it as the first wine cellar in the country and a pioneer in the business . A fast growing expansion and diversity, ranging from everyday wines to exceptional Grands Crus, resulted in a comprehensive wine cellar, specialized in French Bordeaux wines. AZIZ’s distinguished wines and spirits selection includes the finest champagne brands, delightful cognacs and armagnacs, a large variety of malt whiskies and hand-picked eaux-de-vies. To name a few, the houses respresented by AZIZ are Cheval Quancard, Delamain, Delord, Billecart-Salmon and Joseph Perrier.

With the end of the civil war and a restored appetite for consumption, AZIZ re-opened our boutique in Kantari in 2001. Since then, AZIZ’s expansion took a leap forward with the creation of its own pastry and bakery departments. In addition, from 2003 and onwards, AZIZ has been providing catering services with the idea of fulfilling a wide variety of customer needs ranging from big cocktail parties to small cozy get-togethers.

Today, AZIZ shops are located in Kantari, Beirut, the original site since the firm's establishment in 1955, as well as Zalka, on the main highway since 1975. Moreover, the shops' decoration fits the concept and image developed by the delicatessen house, known as a reference in upscale food products.
